In the realm of fine jewelry, the quest for innovation and exploration has lead K. Louise to create extraordinarily beautiful renditions of one of a kind contemporarywearable art forms since the debut of her business, K. Louise Designs in April of 2003 . Placing an emphasis on originality, her jewels are inspired by nature, landscapes, fantasy and various cultures of the world.
Graduating in 2002, with Honors, from Rutgers University with a BA in Fine Arts, along with her independent study work at Northern Arizona University and The University of Pretoria, South Africa, K. Louise has transformed her visions into specialized designs which encompass an array of styles, materials, and inventive concepts.
“Being connected with nature is a significant part of my life, and I enjoy incorporating that into my designs. Traveling to other countries has allowed me to enjoy other cultures and environments which has been a tremendous source of inspiration.”
As a result of her 2002 thesis in blown glass and metal, K. Louise is able to incorporate other materials such as; blown glass, vintage glass, and recycled glass from local and world venues which are assembled to create vibrant sets. Precious stones are also woven into intricate motifs initiating a colorful spectrum of sparkling jewels. Exotic woods from Hawaii, South America, and South Africa are individually selected and transformed into authentic collections.
K. Louise has exhibited her sculptures and jewelry in juried shows, such as; The Phillips’ Mill Art Gallery, New Hope, N.J. Juried Show in September of 2003,as well as, Taylor Backes Glass Studio in Pottstown, Pa. in November of 2003. Since 2003, she has also completed commissions for private art and jewelry collectors.
